30 Day Challenge and beyond!

Can you believe that it's the last day of January already?! This year is going to fly by just like last year! Or maybe it's just me, they say once you turn 25 time flies. I joke around that the the next time I look up I'll be 30 o_O ... No, seriously, I'm looking forward to it!! 30 means that my babies aren't babies anymore and that my hectic life will have calmed ALL the way down ((I'm sure I'm going to read this at 30 and laugh at myself ☺))

So, I've decided to do a 30 day blogging challenge, along with all the other changes I'm making beginning with February. Gonna work out ((I swear!!)) Gonna eat right ((no promises ☺)) And I'm going to do a 7 day detox, that will simply include drinking only water and eating mostly raw with minimal cooking, and eating no red meat along with my vities & supplements. The red meat, I think, will be permanent. Let's just see how I do for one week and go from there, lol!

Back to the blogging challenge! I need to get back in the habit of writing daily and I think I'll enjoy this one. I have no idea where I got it from since I saved it sometime last year before I had Cort and life went from 0 to 60. I'll post it here if anyone wants to join me. Make sure to let me know so I can follow! BTW, I'm always looking for cool blogs and ppl for entertainment and motivation so feel free to leave your links, also ☺

IMPOSSIBLE ... is nothing.

I heard this song about a week ago while watching Basketball Wives and immediately fell in love. It's been awhile since I heard a song that made me feel the lyrics. I'm always a sucker for a good ballad and heartbreak lyrics. I'm not even going through what Shontelle is singing about, but I sure can remember a time when I was ... and it seems to me that she has stolen that page straight from my journal. I can remember feeling like I would never get over certain things that certain people did. I can remember feeling so stupid because I truly felt that it was IMPOSSIBLE for that certain person to do what they did. But with time and experience you come to realize that nothing is ever IMPOSSIBLE ... absolutely nothing. The word itself says ... IM POSSIBLE {Audrey Hepburn} and now I apply this to every element of my life. Everything is POSSIBLE ...

Accept it & move the f**k on

Obviously, age has absolutely nothing to do with maturity level. At what point do you grow up and realise that your life is you own and that no one, except you can hold you back. Whatever it is that you feel is stopping you from being the person you want to be ... accept it for what it is and keep moving forward. It can only win if you dwell on it. Life is about so much more than your past.

It's no one elses fault that you can't get your life together.

*Time to Get Right* Tuesday

So, I'm finally back on track with my workouts and dieting ... waaaay back when I first started this blog I was just getting back into whipping this body back into pre-baby shape. I've loooonnnggg since run out of baby-blame considering my baby is now 2 years old!!! But I must admit that I fell off. I won't bore you with my many excuses and will get directly to the point ... I was being lazy. I had ever single advantage to get this right and I didn't. So excuses aside, I'm blogging to add some accountability to this goal.
Please, please, please feel free to grace me with any tips, comments or just good ole' motivation ... I will need it all!!!! The plan is to post my progress every Tuesday. However, DO NOT count on weight updates until I'm a lil' closer to my goal ... I'm just not ready for that yet!!
Anyhow, wish me luck ... here goes everything.

The Plan {Daily}
Elliptical 20 minutes
{working my way up to an hour}
3 meals/2 snacks
64oz water; no juices/soda
{I don't drink soda anyways so that shouldn't be too hard}

The Goal: Feel better, more energy & look great!!

What's holding you Back???

FINALLY I've had the chance to catch up on Tiny & Toya and I must say, it actually made me think. Really I just expected to be entertained by Tiny's {overly} Southern drawl and both of the ladies' story. I love seeing how other people live their lives. Seeing how they deal with life in general. Be it on tv or getting to know new people in my own life. I think it's important to know that there is more to life, more to the world than what you're used to seeing day to day in your own.
After recapping all 4 episodes that I've missed since the shows premier I actually feel motivated to go further with my own goals and aspirations. From each story I've gained something. Like Tiny's situation, I too have wondered if fighting to maintain my individuality will create a gap in my relationship. I have since realized that you absolutely have to in order to maintain a healthy relationship, even if it's not exactly what he may want at the time. But I know first hand how it can be really hard to 'rock the boat' when things seem to be coming along peacefully. When you finally get what you want, you tend to feel kind of guilty about wanting more. But it's human nature to continue to strive for bigger and better. Not only that, you have to be true to who you are or you'll begin to resent the other person, maybe even yourself for all the things you didn't do.
Toya, wow. The family issues I realate to 100%. My mom wasn't/isn't on drugs. But she wasn't there. To be fair, she was working to keep us out of the lifestyle that she grew up with. She wanted better for her kids, and we got it. I give her much credit for that. We never went without the neccesities, but that was it. I kind of feel like she did what she had to do, and that was it. Things that I should have learned as a girl, I didn't. Instead I'm learning as I go. Relationships that should have been cultivated as I grew up, weren't. I'm still learning things now as an adult that, in my opinion I should already know. Things that I worried about as a young adult were things that my friends are still not worrying about. All of which has made me into the self sufficient person that I am today ONLY because I decided a long time ago that the blame game wasn't going to help me to survive. I have grown a great deal, so yeah I know that my mom did the best she knew how to do, and I can't expect more than that. But it does hurt still when I'm with my friends and their families and you see the love. I didn't really feel that growing up in my home. I don't feel like I can call my Mom if all else fails. Or anyone else for that matter. I feel like I have no choice but to make it and I don't want my daughter to feel like that. I will have her back first and foremost no matter what happens and I want her to know that in her heart. All of my babies. Nothing should ever be more important than family.
What it all comes down to is that everyone is human. No matter how much money or fame you have aquired, you are still a PERSON. We all have our pains and struggles as well as our triumphs. I laughed, I cried. I'm definitely going to try catch the show. Or atleast keep up on Bet.com!!!

Time waits for no one ....

Can you believe it's already 1/2 way through 2009?!?!? This year is really zooming by and I can't help but to think about all the things that I've resolved to do ... and haven't. I've told ya'll once before that I'm the queen of Procrastination .... but this time I think it's something else.
I really am trying to do waaaay too much.
Full time job. Full time Mommy. Full time Wifey. Part time writer. Part time student,
all while trying to stay Full time ME.
Not to mention trying to get every other aspect of my life in order all at the same time.
I have to come up with some kind of plan to balance it all so that I can do all the things that I need to and want to AND still manage to keep my sanity. I know there's a way, since Women have been doing it since the beginning on time ... I just have to find MY way.

Just Do It ... like Nike said.

I am the queen of procrastination.

There, I said it.

I'll know what I have to do ... decide when I'm going to do it. Create a whole entire plan to do it ... and I still won't do it. Why??? I guess it's something I need to right about, because I still don't know the answer to that one 3 days shy of 24 years. What I do know is that it's hindering me, and a great teacher once told me, 'any trait that you have that is hindering you, practice getting rid of it ... you can change anything that you want, all you have to do is want to'. So my plan today and everyday on, is to take heed to that great teacher. I was even procrastinating on writing this blog!! I'm laying there watching Candy Girls {1 of my guilty pleasures}, ideas upon ideas popping into my mind, but I'm also thinking ... I need to take my ass to sleep. I'm tired, but if I can stay up to watch some damn show I sure as hell can write what's on my mind. Especially since my last blog was about doing whatever it takes to do what you love! So yeah, here I am ... writing. And I'm making it a personal goal to be here every night. So prepare to be OD'ed on Cc, blogger world. I hope you're ready ...

Thanks for visiting!
